The purpose of The Life Science is to promote physical, mental and spiritual health and happiness. The church wants every individual to realize his or her own potential, in order to achieve maximum well-being. The Life Science specializes in studies of Biblical and Spiritual aspects on health, energy and nutrition for optimal spirituality. The Life Science has weekly services on most Saturdays and Sundays, and occasional Wednesdays and Fridays in the evenings or afternoons, and occasionally visits historic religious sites on outings. The pastor, Stanley S. Bass, was a specialist in nutrition for many years, before becoming a minister. He holds degrees and diplomas in Chiropractic, Naturopathy, Dietetetics, as well as a PhD and DD. His spiritual studies, ongoing for over 60 years, includes extensive background in Christianity, Judaism, the religions of India, China, Tibet and other spiritual entities, e.g. spiritualism, Gurdjieff, Self-Realization Fellowship, Center for Spiritual Awareness, Association for Research and Enlightenment, and many other groups. Sermons are usually held at the church premise, and sometimes in parks on sunny summer days. Besides readings from the New and Old Testaments, we have discussions on the importance of understanding moral beliefs and practices in daily life. We discuss proper eating as recommended in The Bible, Holy Books and scientific publications. We discuss exercises for physical, mental and spiritual health and happiness. We do counseling for young people, marriages and current emergencies. We perform weddings, funerals, etc. We also teach yoga, exercises, meditations, prayers. Online, we publish articles of general usefulness to the public, on religious and health related subjects. The Life Science has been located at 3119 Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn NY since 1977. We are now looking for a new location, after being hard hit by the 2012 hurricane.
